Hawaiian Moons Natural Foods was established in 1994 as the first full service natural food store in the Kihei/Wailea area. The owners ( the husband and wife team ) Donnie Mcgean and Michele Heick, created this store to serve the community. Promoting healthy food, good fitness and a sustainable lifestyle is the goal of Hawaiian Moons Natural Foods.

In ancient Hawaii, the Hawaiians used the moon to dictate their daily lives. Each moon phase had a name & the Hawaiians did not think in terms of days but instead in terms of moon phases. The phases also dictated the seasons. By knowing the different phases of the moon the Hawaiians knew when to plant, to harvest, to fish, to worship and even to play. This created a sustainable lifestyle for the Hawaiians.

At Hawaiian Moons Natural Foods, we also strive to achieve and promote a sustainable lifestyle through the promotion of organic farming, recycling, environmentally friendly products and energy efficiency.

Produce- Local organic and conventional produce plus fresh produce flown in every week from California provide the highest quality produce in South Maui. Our produce manager, Darv, has nearly 30 years experience in the organic produce industry and is dedicated to providing the highest quality produce available.

Grocery- We carry a wide selection of all the popular brands of natural and organic products including a large assortment of wheat free & gluten free items. We also feature many local products: Maui honey from Tropical Apiary, Maui Taro Burgers, Ono Farms preserves, Maui Oma coffee from Kona, Kauai, and Maui- and many other delicious local products!

Frozen- From organic Ice Cream to Gluten Free Pizzas you will find it at Hawaiian Moons. We also carry Organic and Free Range Beef & Poultry, Alaskan non-farmed salmon, and many vegetarian and vegan alternatives to fit any diet.

Chill Case- Organic Milk, Yogurts, Cheeses & Butter are flown in every week to ensure freshness and highest quality. We also offer a wide variety of non-dairy alternatives. In addition, we feature several pre-packed sliced meat choices (and Tofurkey!) and locally grown Maui Cattle Co. grass fed free-range Beef- delivered fresh!

Supplements- Hawaiian Moons carries a wide selection of brands and products. Vitamins, Herbs & Supplements including Chinese Remedies and Homeopathic Remedies will be found in this department. Ask for one of our specialists Kristyn, Greg, or Star.

Grab & Go Deli- Freshly made deli selections including healthy and delicious Meat and Tofu salads, Dips, Spreads, Sandwiches, Wraps, Cakes, Muffins, and Cookies!

Hot Bar- Come in and enjoy our hot entree buffet- including organic brown rice, potatoes, delicious meat and vegetarian dishes, and a daily soup and stew! Open from 11:00am to 6:30pm, Monday-Saturday.

Salad Bar- Open all day to fit your busy schedule, come in and enjoy the most famous salad bar in South Maui! From our famous prepared dishes, to our fresh cut vegetables and local fruit, you’ll be amazed at how delicious real, fresh food can be!! Open M-F: 8:00am to 7:30pm, Sat-Sun: 9:00am-7:30pm
