Serving Fresh, Creative, Island Style Cuisine.
Nestled at the end of the road on Hawaii’s Big Island in beautiful North Kohala, you will find Bamboo Restaurant, one of the island’s oldest and most beloved establishments. Known for its affordable, creative, Pacific Rim menu, along with warm, lighthearted fun, and a big aloha spirit, Bamboo has been rated “Excellent” by Zagat and been awarded stars from Fodors.
Located in a historic, fully restored plantation building, Bamboo is a one-of-a-kind experience … your waitress may just dance the hula for you! Their Island Style Cuisine features fresh island fish, classic Hawaiian food, locally grown organic produce, free-range chicken, the best in steaks and ribs, plenty of vegetarian options, and award-winning desserts.
Known for their fabulous cocktails, Bamboo invented the Lilikoi (Passioin Fruit) Margarita, Lili Mojito and Lili-tini – you can sip one as you wander through their colorful gallery of Pacific art, Hawaiian handcrafts, and one of the largest selections of aloha shirts on the island.
No visit to the Big Island is complete without a visit to Kohala. Come for the day and enjoy hiking, atv tours, a zip-line over lush canyons or a gallop over rolling green hills. Hwy 250 into Hawi was called by Conde Nast Traveler, “one of the most beautiful roads in the world.” Or come by Hwy 270 and watch the humpback whales cavort through the winter. Either way, come and visit us for lunch, dinner, Sunday brunch or just a bit of shopping. E Komo Mai … we look forward to seeing you!
