Aloha and Welcome to Cory Labang Designs!

Since 2007 Cory Labang has been designing and producing innovative handbags from vintage fabrics and other textiles, as well as one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces. Born & raised in Hawai’i she takes inspiration from her island home, the vintage materials she uses in her work, and the wonder of discovery.

All of Cory Labang’s creations are handmade and dreamed up with the inspiration to take cool old things and reinvent new uses for them.

Cory loves to rummage through thrift shops for unique fabrics to make bags out of. Nothing is safe from her scissors; clothes, handkerchiefs, tapestries, towels, quilts, table cloths, upholstery fabrics, if she can cut it up, they become something lovely, that will most likely be used daily. Sometimes things are better as something else!

The same approach is used when cory makes her jewelry. Labang uses objects that she finds endearing, heart wrenching or charming and turns them into pieces that tell a story. Most of her pieces are one of a kind, and she feels that each one is made for someone who will love it, they just haven’t seen it yet!

Cory is honored to be a participating artist at both Four Seasons Resorts on Lana’i. Find her (almost) every Monday at the Lodge at Koele and (almost) every Wednesday at the Manele Bay Hotel (lower lobby). 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
