Four Seasons Resorts Lanai, with HawaiiOnTV.com and JazzAlleyTV.com, present the 4th Lanai Hawaiian Culture, Film & Music Festival, February 7th, 8th and 9th, 2014, at The Four Seasons Resorts Lanai, The Lodge at Koele. This Hawaiian Festival weekend on Lanai will be full of special events, including award winning music from Grammy Winner Dennis Kamakahi, Ukulele Master Benny Uyetake, Ukulele Master Sheldon Brown, Nose Flute with Calvin Hoe, Hula Maori and Tahitian Dances with Lanakila and Hui.

The festival kicks off Friday night, Feb. 7th with live Hawaiian Music Under the Stars at The Lodge at Koele, from 6-9pm. Award Winning Hawaiian Films will be shown in The Living Room at the Lodge at Koele between 6-10pm

Saturday February 8th, you can start the day off in Lanai City at Coffee Works, where Sheldon Brown will be performing Live Music from 9-11am. Just down the street, you can enjoy a great tasting lunch at Cafe 565 while listening to live music with Benny Uyetake from 11am – 1pm.

The Festival begins at 5pm Saturday evening, Feb. 8th in The Great Hall at The Lodge at Koele. 4 hours of Award winning Music, Award Winning Polynesian Films and FREE Hawaiian Culture Workshops with Lanakila, Calvin Hoe, Dennis Kamakai and Sheldon Brown.

The weekend comes to a close on Sunday Feb. 9th with Live Hawaiian Music in the Great Hall at The Lodge at Koele from 9:30 to Noon, with Hana Hou performance from 6-9pm.

Take a cultural expedition to the island of Lanai, Hawaii, in a quest to find and document historic sites for preservation by the Lana’i Culture and Heritage Center. Join Hal Hammatt, (Cultural Surveys Hawaii) as archaeology teams travel to ancient sites around Lanai to find pieces of history.

There are many ancient sites on the island of Lanai, dating back hundreds of years. These historical sites are really about the future, continuing the Hawaiian Culture by preserving them and giving generations to come a reference to who they are and where they came from.

Lanai is a beautiful place…with so many things to see and do. The island’s past provides unity to the people that maintain it today, as they are the stewards who will ensure it’s story and it’s survival today.

The island of Lana‘i has a rich natural and cultural landscape. This community heritage program seeks to document and share the legacy of Lanai with everyone.

The new Lanai Culture & Heritage Center is located in the old Dole Administration Building at 730 Lanai Avenue, Room 118, Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
