CJ “Boom” Helekahi – Hana Maui Hawaii

CJ Helekahi is a contemporary Hawaiian musician, singer and songwriter. CJ was born and raised in majestic Hana, Maui. You can catch him performing every week at Hotel Hana Maui in addition to other venues around the islands.

Hāna, Maui. Raw and seemingly untouched. Honest and hospitable. Pristine, gorgeous, rugged, vibrant, majestic and ripe. Hāna is the embodiment of easy-living. And in the words of songwriter and musician CJ Helekahi, a place where you can see the stars at night, the dark side of the moon, and a place you never leave.

Born and raised in Hāna, Maui, the remote small town of approximately 2500 people on Maui’s scenic east coast, emerges a singer/songwriter named CJ Helekahi who has a sound like no other. CJ Helekahi comes from a very large and musical Hawaiian family with a long lineage of talented people. His Grandmother, the late Clara Tolentino, was a famous Hāna entertainer, along with his Aunty G-Girl Keli’iho’omalu, a well-known recording artist, and his mother, Lovey Helekahi, a renowned and long-time performer in Hāna. There is a real pureness to CJ’s voice; an originality that could only come from a place like Hāna. In this land of love of family and sharing, true community closeness and old Hawaiian ways are abound.

MauiFEST Hawaii – Music, Art, Culture & Film

MauiFEST Hawaii - A Celebration of Music, Art, Culture & Film
MauiFEST Hawai’i is a Celebration of Music, Arts, Culture and Film.

Created by Maui filmmaker Kenneth K. Martinez Burgmaier, MauiFEST Hawaii showcases local entertainment and helps to preserve, perpetuate and promote Hawaii’s lost culture.

Because MauiFEST Hawaii attracts both residents and tourists, it provides a venue for increased interaction between these groups in the small communities where events are held.

MauiFEST events provide local clubs and cultural organizations a venue to raise money by providing them a free tent/space to sell items of their choice, thus providing entrepreneurial opportunities for local residents.

Kenneth K. Martinez Burgmaier and his MauiFEST Ohana will provide the expertise needed to make these grass-roots efforts a truly community-based initiative and will bring tourists & visitors to our most isolated communities.

With 8 successful years of popular Film Festivals in Hana, Lanai, Molokai & Lahaina, MauiFEST Hawaii is gearing up for another year of Aloha in 2011!

Maui Winery at Ulupalakua Ranch – Kula, HI

Maui Winery at Ulupalakua Ranch

Maui Winery at Ulupalakua Ranch is located at
153 Kula Hwy. – Kula, HI 96790

Tedeschi Vineyards is a beautiful side trip, whether you’re visiting Haleakala Crater, exploring the old cowboy town of Makawao, or just enjoying Upcountry Maui’s exceptional vistas. The road to the winery climbs and dips amid the rolling hills and lush pastures of the region known as Ulupalakua, where paniolos – Hawaii’s cowboys still herd cattle on horseback.

The winery is located about an hour’s drive from the resort areas of Wailea and Ka’anapali, 2,000 feet up the verdant slopes of Maui’s dormant volcano. From this elevation, spectacular views sweep across the Central Valley and the West Maui Mountains.
