Join Whole Foods Maui on March 10th at 10am, for a FREE event “Cracking the Parmesan Cheese”.
Whole Foods Market will kick off a month-long celebration of one of Italy’s most famous culinary jewels, Parmigiano Reggiano, with an in-store demonstration that will honor the tradition behind the “king of cheese” while highlighting what it has to offer.

There will be samples, recipes and pairings throughout departments while attempting to break its own world record for simultaneously “cracking open” hundreds of hand-selected wheels of 24-month-aged Parmigiano Reggiano wheels.

Whole Foods Market cheesemongers will demonstrate the art of breaking into this spectacular cheese with the traditional method that preserves its salty, crunchy, crumbly internal crystalline structure. The process of carving into and portioning each 85-pound wheel requires an expert hand. AND this weekend only can you enjoy this amazing cheese for less! On sale for $7 dollars off the regular price.

Governor Neil Abercrombie stopped by Kihei’s Lipoa Street Farmer’s Market Saturday July 30th to present a proclamation for “Lipoa Street Farmer’s Market Day in the State of Hawaii” as part of the Market’s one-year anniversary celebration.

The farmers market is held every Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. and features locally grown produce, certified organic foods, jams and jellies, crafts, art, and health services from Maui practitioners.

Rev. Sandy Baz began the event with a special blessing, then Mayor Arakawa Proclaimed “Lipoa Street Farmer’s Market Day in Maui County” followed by a County Council Certificate presented by South Maui Council Member Don Couch and signed by all 8 members of the County Council.

Everyone had a great time and enjoyed some ONO BIrthday cake from Whole Foods Market!
